2022 The Other Wine Co. Pinot Gris
Adelaide Hills
Fresh, lively & textured.
Dan Traucki
A delightful wine with a fresh, bright cool climate bouquet of pears & stone fruit, with a lovely zippy, crisp tasty palate of nashi pears & citrus. Tight crispish refreshing finish. A FABULOUS FOOD WINE!!

The Other Wine Co. releases are always well-made and fit for purpose. No difference here. Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris with generosity is the mode. It smells ripe – Nashi pear and stonefruit. Ripe enough palate too – maybe a little too soft to finish, but nice generous pear fruit the whole way through. This is what approachable Pinot Gris should taste like, really. Just a bit diffuse to finish, but the flavour is spot on

This pinot gris should be on your radar. There’s great structure and liveliness here with delightful pear and citrus flavours. It’s not too opulent either, instead wowing you with understated glamour.

Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris from a terrific vintage, which was handpicked and then cool fermented in stainless steel and old French oak puncheons, followed by a further four months on lees. Dilute yellow in colour, the nose is absolutely classical Pinot Gris – pears, crisp apple notes, a hint of citrus like freshly grated lemon rind. Very attractive in every respect, this has good focus, a seductive texture, a lingering finish and a pleasing flick of acidity running the length, tying things together. There is a lot to like here so gorgeous drinking now, and at any stage over the next three to four years.

A charming nose of white tea, peach and grapefruit peel. Medium-bodied with bright acidity. Mineral undertones. Fresh.
