2021 The Other Wine Co. Pinot Gris
Fresh, lively & textured.
Low yields and handpicked fruit. Cool fermentation in stainless steel is followed by four months on lees.

Fermented on full solids, in both old French puncheons and stainless steel. On lees for 4 months. A full-on spring-blossom aroma sets the scene for this aromatic gris that fairly bounces with energy. Apple blossom, honeysuckle, fresh-cut pear and lemon zest aromas draw you in. Jump with bright upfront acidity and lemon drop/pastille confection, pear and spiced apple. An exuberant youngster when first tasted, but there’s plenty of time to settle and work on that budding textural component.

A pale colour leads to a beautifully expressive and enticing wine with aromas of biting into a fresh pear with a musky, spicy lift. There’s intensity, precision and energy to the fruit that is hard to ignore. The palate is then bright and fresh, with crisp acidity plus a touch of sweetness with that fresh pear fruit now offset by more savoury gentle lees influences before a drying, pithy finish.
A fresh and fragrant gris that has aromas of sliced pear and lemon, as well as apple. The palate has lightly tangy, fresh-pear flavour. 91 Points
