May 2019 - New Release: 2018 The Other Wine Co. Wines 

The Other Wine Co. focuses on ‘other’ places, different varieties and experimentation. We have four new wines from 2018 to show you.

Grenache from 45-year-old bush vines on sand in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale: open ferments in stainless steel as whole berries (so no whole bunch), maturation in concrete and old puncheons.

Shiraz Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills - 65% Shiraz, from Balhannah, 35% Pinot Noir, from Lenswood: co-fermented in 1000 litre French oak foudres as mostly whole berries (so a tiny bit of whole bunch), basket pressed to old puncheons.

Cabernet Franc from Kangaroo Island: closed stainless steel ferments as whole berries. Gentle extraction, then basket pressed to old barriques.

Pinot Gris from the Adelaide Hills - Lenswood, Charleston and Hahndorf: a portion was fermented in new 1000 litre French oak foudres and then matured in older barriques. The final blend spent four months on lees in stainless steel.

May 2019 - The Other Wine Co. Dinner at Saké Restaurant

Oct 2018 - New Release: 2018 The Other Wine Co. Grenache

The Other Wine Co. evolution continues. While we work on Cabernet Franc from Kangaroo Island, we have a new Grenache release.

2018 The Other Wine Co. Grenache is from old vines (45 years) grown in sand in Blewitt Springs. We picked early, used a combination of whole-berries and whole-bunches in the ferment, protected the beautiful aromatics by being gentle with it, and then used only old French oak for a short time plus stainless steel.

Delicious, fragrant, red fruited, grippy, and drinkable, is our take on Grenache. And we hope you enjoy this latest expression. To purchase, click here

Dec 2015 - The Other Wine Co. wins hottest wine at the Adelaide Review Hot 100

The Other Wine Co. has won the award for South Australia’s hottest wine at the Adelaide Review Hot 100, taking out the top place from a record entry of 1200 wines.

Declaring it this year’s most drinkable wine, the judges singled out the 2015 Grenache from McLaren Vale for its “gracious tumble of red fruits,” its “sense of style and grace”, and its “delicacy and power.”
